Incentive Navigator: Redefining Performance Management

About Project:
RMS Application is a tool to assist managers in making decisions about their employees' yearly incentives and salaries within the prescribed budget. These are the recommendations given by their managers, based on ratings, performance, past data and, other factors suitable for each employee their peers. 

My Role:
My role as a UX architect was to redesign the existing app. That includes research, providing solutions, and creating screens for the entire application. 

Design Challenge:
Managers were not using the actual RMS app for comparing and analyzing data for salary and incentive recommendations. The biggest design challenge was to eliminate spreadsheets. Due to risks involved like; Human errors, and not secure, ranging from typing errors, and formula errors to even using the wrong spreadsheet version.

My Approach:
Analyzed the task and Researched existing applications. After requirement gathering, I started conducting research, performed a heuristic evaluation of the client’s old application to know the pain points, and conducted user interviews from different user groups. Based on that, created a persona, mood board, and generated task flow. And created wireframes. Then, I performed usability testing on a new design. Based on findings, made the iterations.
Pain points:

•Too much data on one page
•Cognitive load
•Unnecessary information on the page, leads to performing unnecessary actions
• No visual cues to help the user identify and filter information quickly
•No Consistency in the design
•Small text, hard to read and the user can’t change the text size
•Long scrollbars (Horizontal and vertical)
•All calculations are manual
•Task flow is not intuitive
•Accessibility problem
